UT Professor Kenyon Evans-Nguyen gave the final symposium of the 2020-2021 academic year titled, “Drugs, Bombs, & Arson: Forensic Chemistry at Work.” In the symposium, Dr. Evans-Nguyen detailed what forensic chemists do in their day-to-day work, much of which involves identifying unknown substances (often illicit drugs), but can also include identifying the chemicals used in bombs and arson. Well over 100 Honors student were in attendance for the final symposium.
