Dr. Hengwei (Rachel) Zhang presented her symposium, “How to Uncover the Mystery of AI” this past Friday afternoon. Dr. Zhang is assistant Professor of Cybersecurity. She teaches Application Development and Management Information Systems. Her research area is in diversity, interdisciplinary and practical-oriented research that addresses socio-technical issues and solves real-world problems. Dr. Zhang gave an overview of AI as a collection of tools, including generative AI, supervised learning, unsupervised learning, and reinforcement learning. The talk explained how some of these tools can be used to do everything from detect cancer for doctors to predict distracted driving for insurance companies.
