Students who would like to help with Helene cleanup can do so through PEACE and earn community service points through Honors. You need 40 “choose your own” ACE points per year, and you can earn those through service — and Tampa Bay really needs your service. For volunteer hours to community points ratio, 1-2 hrs is 10 points; 3-4 hrs is 20 points; 5-6 is 30 points. Here are the options from the PEACE office:
Saturday, Oct 5
World Central Kitchen (WCK)
- 3 Groups of 5 Assisting in supporting WCK’s food distribution sites spread along the affected area from St. Pete to Tarpon Springs
- Shifts are from 11:00am – 4:00pm
- Location: Affected area from St. Pete to Tarpon Springs
- Transportation to Sites:
- 9:45am – Meet in Vaughn Center Lobby
- 10:00 am – Depart to Respective Site
- Use Rideshare or Carpool to get to the respective areas for service
- Our goal is to meet on campus first as a group and depart together
- Group drivers or Rideshare Services users will be reimbursed for travel expenses

- Operation BBQ Relief
- 1 Group of up to 15 people
- Shift Time: 10:00am – 2:00pm
- Location: Pinellas Park – Site Location will be shared with confirmed volunteers
- Transportation Plan:
- 8:45am – Meet in Vaughn Center Lobby
- We will be using Rideshare or Carpool to travel to the location
- Our goal is to meet on campus first as a group and depart together
- Group drivers or Rideshare Services users will be reimbursed for travel expenses
- 9:00 am – Depart to Deployment Address
- Pinellas Park – Site Location will be shared with confirmed volunteers by Friday, October 4th
