Cauldrons and Sips in McKay

The University of Tampa Honors Program hosted a festive and fun-filled evening during our Halloween Movie & Mocktail Night on October 23rd in McKay Hall. Students gathered to enjoy a relaxed, seasonal celebration complete with themed activities and plenty of opportunities to unwind during a busy point in the semester.

Students created their own DIY mocktails using a variety of juices, mixers, and Halloween-inspired garnishes. The atmosphere was lively and social as everyone enjoyed their creations and settled in for the featured movie of the night, Hocus Pocus. Lawn games and snacks added to the cozy, community-focused environment, giving students several ways to participate and connect.

The Final Push Spin Class

The University of Tampa Honors Program hosted an energizing fitness event during our recent Final Push Spin Class. Students gathered at the UTampa Riseman Fitness & Recreation Center, where they checked in and prepared for an uplifting workout led by Honors’ very own HEC President, Thomas Simonetti.

Once inside the studio, students selected their bikes, grabbed a free Redbull for an energy boost, and settled in for a high-energy ride. The session provided a fun and active way to relieve stress during a busy point in the semester. Participants enjoyed the opportunity to recharge, stay active, and connect with fellow Honors students in an engaging environment.

We look forward to hosting more fitness-focused events like this in the future!

Sunset at Davis Island

The University of Tampa Honors Program hosted a peaceful and scenic evening on Davis Island Beach during our recent Sunset Picnic event. Students met at the UT Bell Tower, where transportation was coordinated. Drivers and passengers were matched into carpools, and the group made its way over together to enjoy the cooler weather and beach atmosphere at Davis Island, close to campus.

Once on the beach, students spread out blankets, unpacked their picnic items, and settled in to relax before sunset. Honors provided a variety of snacks, and many students brought their own food to share with friends. The atmosphere was calm and social, giving everyone a chance to unwind, meet new people, and take a break from a busy semester. The group enjoyed a colorful sky and took advantage of the perfect photo opportunities.

The event offered students the opportunity to earn 10 ACE Engagement points, but more importantly, it gave the Honors community a chance to connect outside the classroom.

We look forward to hosting more relaxing, community-building events like this in the future! Thank you Tenley Mertz for planning this wonderful event!
